1. | PROJECT & DESIGN BY CAD TOOLING |
2. | STAMPING Stamping method or laser machining method is determined with the consideration of cost, design & other factors. |
3. | LASER CUTTING Stamping method or laser machining method is determined with the consideration of cost, design & other factors. |
4. | MILLING CUTTER Male & female of lock engagement on a blade tang & a lock bar have to be precisely milled to prevent the knife from side to side & vertical plays when it is completed.. |
5. | HEAT TREATMENT Heat treatment & tempering should be made at appropriate temperature for the best Rockwell hardness. Normal temperature for the heat treatment is set at 950℃ to 1070℃ (1742F to 1958F) & 450℃ to 550℃(942F to 1022F) for tempering. |
6. | AUTO & SEMI-AUTO GRINDING This process includes surface grinding & perimeter grinding in accordance with the sizes requested in the CAD. |
7. | BLADE GRIND Flat & bevel of blade is refined by fine grit paper. |
8. | ASSEMBLY All the parts are assembled into a knife |
9. | Pivot pin & lock bar pin are fastened by the rolling vibrator. | |
10. | KNIFE GRINDING Perimeter of the assembled knife is sanded off by the belt grinder. The grit number nomally used for this process is from #60 to #240.Polishing compound is used if finer finish needed. |
11. | CLEANING The finished knife is washed in the high frequency vibration washer. |
12. | HONING Cutting edge is put by a grinder wheel first. Then polished with a leather wheel to remove burrs on the cantle all through the belly, but the burrs on top of cutting edge should not be removed completely. Precise bevel angle & cantle width are requested. |
13. | SCOTCH BRIGHT FINISH The knife is finally polished by the Scotch Bright wheel. |
14. | INSPECTION The knife is cleaned & inspected before shipment. |
